It is deer resistant but attractive to hummingbirds and butterflies. Sun with afternoon shade is the ideal exposure, but it will tolerate full sun. These perennials make their appearance late in the spring, so don't assume they have turned up their toes. Have patience, and you will be more than amply rewarded.
